i agree with a lot of what i'm reading, but i got to say..i really agree with robin...i find that on many dating sites i'm on.i seem to get email from men who claim to be working in africa, yet say they're from the USA....but see i'm not one to trust too much of anything without hard proof..so i question them, what kind of music do you like.they usually only know one artist from a certain catagory, and i'm thinking no matter what race you are...if you live or lived in the USA you've heard of so many

True.com Sued, Twice
I, too, had a very difficult time canceling my True.com subscription, but finally managed to do so back in July 2006. However, I just found out today that True.com had charged me fifty bucks (okay, $49.99) two days ago apparently for re-starting a membership I'd canceled back in July. I called their customer service center and had ... well, let's just say it was a "very difficult customer service experience." The rep I talked to said I'd started a three-day "free trial" on November 23 that I

are you trying to say that you would like to see dating sites provide similar features as social networking sites? Or do you believe there is a need for a completely revamped, rethought dating site completely?

How Do you Say What's Your Sign In Chinese?
342 engagements a day is certainly better than eHarmony's 45... but where did you find that number? And which of Meetic's multiple dating platforms and over 50 partners does it include?
With all of Meetic's investments and vertical business plays, I wouldn't be surprised if Meetic's engagement/no engagement ratio is actually worse than eHarmony's.
Not to say eHarmony is blowing the fish out of the water. I recently did the math on their marriage success ratio at avanoo.wordpress.com. T

I think this should be a great venture not only for China but for the whole dating world cause those targeted young people from China will be communications with the whole world. Great example of auditory exchange!
Yes there probably will be versions in different languages or Meetic will add a new Chinese directory in its sites.

Judge Overthrows IMBRA
IMBRA And Tahirih Justice Center's Desperate And Troubling Behavior
Online-dating relationships essentially involve three distinct, progressive stages:
1. Stage One is the Introduction Stage, in which people first greet each other ("hello"), exchange letters, e-mails, phone calls, etc.
2. Stage Two is the Courtship Stage, in which people actually meet, get to know each other better and advance their relationship. If the couple met via an International Matchmaking Organization (IMO), the gen

In the last post, "IMBRA And Tahirih Justice Center's Hypocrisy", I have shown (that) there is no justification to force unilateral release of personal and criminal information of all American male clients of International Matchmaking Organizations (IMOs) at the time of initial contact because at that stage, there is no risk of harm to foreign women.
I have also stated that unlike IMOs, Domestic Matchmaking Organizations (

Non-working phone numbers, girls not returning phone calls, matchmaking reps who can't remember what they told you one week to the next, etc.
STAY AWAY. If it was just a small monthly fee that I was taken for, I would just go somewhere else, but these people charge decent bucks for a service they don't provide.

Out of whack? Its 3x annual earnings. It is strange to me that some people seem to expect relatively low multiples in the Internet World these days. Why is that? I doubt any brick and mortar would sell for less than 3x!!! 10x was the norm during the .com heyday. The Nasdaq lists many companies trading at 10-100x Annual earnings!

There are a number of serious flaws in the IMBRA law. Immigration is already a lengthy bureaucratic process, but IMBRA's paperwork requirements are so onerous that many international correspondence services have suspended operations rather than incur the expense of obtaining background checks, translating forms into the recipient's native language, getting a separate written consent form signed by the foreign lady before releasing her address to each potential American correspondent, etc. Since
